The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection: A New Era of Cruise Luxury
By Tully Luxury Travel | 04-01-2024 |
It’s an unprecedented opportunity to be untethered, with the freedom and flexibility to find the hidden gems of the world. The Ritz Carlton Yacht Collection has that unique ability, to make room and time for complete physical, cultural and social immersion. Indulging your curiosity is not a singularity – it is the rule.
To Ritz-Carlton devotees, this is nothing new. The hotel titan has always delivered exceptional experiences filled with unexpected surprises that delight and astound. With the brand extension swinging into the world of ultra-luxury superyacht adventure, The Ritz-Carlton elegantly fused their concept of hospitality and service to the exploration of the world’s premium destinations, large and small.
And with the launch of the much-anticipated second yacht, Ilma, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection takes its connection to the ocean one step further.
Ilma means “water” in Maltese
The new superyacht Ilma very capably follows in the footsteps of her predecessor, Evrima, whose 2022 emergence caused quite the splash. Fittingly, Ilma sports the same modern craftsmanship with clean lines and an elegance instantly recognizable as part of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection – now a “collection” at last.
Ilma’s 448 passengers will no doubt enjoy these incomparable figures – the ship has a crew-to-guest ratio of 1 to 1.2 and, perhaps more tellingly, the highest ratio of guest-to-space at sea at 1 to 104.3. This is clearly a ship with room to roam. The 224 suites all have private terraces and are equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Ilma also features two new upper-suite categories that measure more than 1,000 square feet.
And in keeping with solid Ritz-Carlton methodology, the culinary program aboard Ilma promises a world of taste sensation, while The Ritz-Carlton Spa soothes body and soul.
Deepen your connection, wherever you sail
The unique itineraries of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection will draw guests right into each glorious destination. Ilma’s inaugural voyages in the Mediterranean Sea in the late summer and fall explore the gorgeous Amalfi Coast and the beloved Greek Isles, along with renowned yachting destinations such as Monte Carlo and St. Tropez. Cultural gems like Rome, Barcelona and Lisbon are part of the plan, before a transatlantic voyage to the Caribbean for the winter – as you do, replete with astonishing beaches and colorful island heritage.
Back to Europe for spring in 2025, the Ilma then spends the warm summer sailing for the British Isles, Nordic shores and jewels of the Baltic Sea – even making a trip to Iceland. In all, it is a season filled with fairytale castles, historic cathedrals, iconic cities colorful villages.
The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection also has a wine connoisseur voyage in store. Guests will sip port wine in Portugal, taste Rioja in Spain and spend two days exploring the renowned vineyards of Bordeaux. The Michelin-inspired cuisine and impressive wine vault on board Ilma take their cue from these epicurean experiences ashore.
