Itinerary: 8 Days, 7 Nights
On this exciting 8-day flying safari, experience four of the best wildlife areas in Tanzania: Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and Serengeti National Park. Accompanied by an experienced professional guide and pilot, you will fly between locations in an executive-class Cessna Grand Caravan fitted with eight leather passenger seats. Choose to join a scheduled departure, thus sharing the costs with other travelers; or charter your own executive-class aircraft, giving you the flexibility to design your own itinerary. On the ground, enjoy exceptional game drives in quality safari vehicles, as well as guided bushwalks. A flying safari allows you to access remote parts of the wilderness without long drives between destinations.
ROUTING AND ACCOMMODATION
Your flying safari begins and ends at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Spend one night at the charming Arusha Coffee Lodge, situated on a working coffee plantation, then two nights each at the unique Tarangire Treetops, in Tarangire National Park and beautiful The Manor at Ngorongoro, in the Ngorongoro Highlands. Your last two nights are spent at the Serengeti Migration Camp, a wonderful tented camp on the banks of the Grumeti River, deep within Serengeti National Park.
GAME VIEWING
Your flying safari has been crafted to deliver the best wildlife viewing experience possible. Each park has its own ‘signature’ group of animals: large herds of elephants in Tarangire; tree-climbing lions and thousands of pink-hued flamingos in Manyara; a diversity of game that lives year-round in the Ngorongoro Crater; and the annual zebra and wildebeest migrations on the vast plains of the Serengeti. Whether you wish to see the ‘Big Five — lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and rhino — or other animals and birds in their natural habitat, this flying safari is the ultimate way to do so.
ACTIVITIES
In addition to game drives and guided walks, your flying safari features special activities that enhance your experience. You will be treated to a guided coffee plantation walking tour, bush sundowner cocktails with night game drives, a special Boma dinner under the stars with Maasai singing, a visit to a Maasai Village, and a bush lunch in the Ngorongoro Crater. Optional activities, such as massage treatments, mountain biking, horseback riding, and hot air balloon flights, are also possible.
SCHEDULE AND INCLUSIONS
Scheduled flying safaris depart three to four times per week and are inclusive of accommodation, meals, drinks, game drives, activities, park fees, a professional driver/guide in a shared safari vehicle, and internal flights between the lodges and camps aboard a luxury Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft. Private charters are also available. You can also add a flying safari in Kenya to make this an epic 2-week adventure.
