Christchurch Luxury Cruises
Evolution, innovation and exhilaration combine to redefine Christchurch, the “Garden City” with heart.
Cruise ships stopping on the east coast of the South Island dock at the scenic harbour in Lyttelton, a tiny town immediately south of Christchurch. From here, sightseeing boats aplenty can take you around the harbour and beyond, with cruise-line shuttles at the ready to whisk you into the centre of Christchurch for an afternoon of exploration.
When you have wandered the banks of the Avon River, combed the amazing art galleries and taken a nature bath in the Botanic Garden and Hagley Park, you can venture to the top of Mount Cavendish via cable car. Heading even farther out of town, walkers can enjoy the historic Bridle Path trail across the Port Hills.
More bucolic hiking can be found after a short ferry ride to three beautiful islands dotting the bay near Lyttelton – Quail, Ripapa and King Billy islands. Multiple national parks and reserves surround the bay here, with family fun to be found at Christchurch Adventure Park.
