Heading out of Marrakesh, you explore the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains, taking in traditional Berber villages, desert oases, and stunning kasbahs. Arriving in Skoura, you spend the night in a private luxury camping lodge, sinking into Moroccan culture completely. Stops in Ouarzazate, Asni, and Imlil reveal more of the fascinating Berber way of life under the watchful eye of the mountains.

Upon your arrival at Marrakesh Airport, you will be met by a VIP host who will assist you through customs and escort you to your private vehicle and transfer you to your hotel.

After breakfast, your guide will meet you in the hotel lobby for a tour of Marrakesh’s ancient, pink-walled Medina. Visit the Bahia Palace which was built at the end of the 19th century, a masterpiece that reflects how privileged people used to live. Continue to the Saadian Tombs, one of the only vestiges remaining from the Saadian dynasty. Your visit may also include Dar Al Bacha, which is considered one of the most beautiful palaces in the city.
After lunch at your hotel, you will explore the colorful marketplaces – or souks – of Marrakesh. Each souk is situated in its own unique quarter, as the merchants trade spices, carpets, jewelry, enamelware, copper, brass, wood carvings, and much more.
You then enjoy taste-testing Moroccan pastries and discovering the country’s traditional spices. You also visit a mint merchant to learn about the herbs used in Moroccan tea. The tour draws to a close with a fabulous dinner overlooking the Medina.

This morning, you discover the Moroccan culinary arts with a private cooking class in a comfortable riad. Your workshop will be hosted by a Moroccan chef, whom you will assist with the preparation of a traditional meal.
You will then visit the beautiful Jardin Majorelle, once the home of French artist Jacques Majorelle, lovingly restored under the patronage of the late French fashion designer Yves St. Laurent. The designer and his long-time partner Pierre Bergé discovered the garden in 1966, buying it in 1980 and expanding its size, restoring the adjacent Villa Bou Saf, which was renamed Villa Oasis. The painter’s studio was transformed into a museum dedicated to Berber culture, housing the personal Berber collection of Saint Laurent and Bergé.
After your visit, you will continue to the Anima Gardens, created by artist André Heller – one of the most beautiful gardens in the world.

Today, you will visit the Museum of La Palmeraie, which houses a private collection of paintings, photographs, sculptures, and installations. You will then visit the studio of renowned perfumer Abderrazzak Benchaâbane, where you will create your very own personal fragrance. Afterward, a stop at the David Bloch Gallery reveals contemporary art in an intimate setting replete with modern paintings, sculptures, and graffiti by Moroccan and global artists.
The tour continues on to the Matisse Art Gallery, which is one of many galleries around the world to bear Henri Matisse’s name. This contemporary gallery showcases both old and new Moroccan artists. You will then have the opportunity to meet a Moroccan caftan designer in her workshop and discuss the secrets of designing a traditional Moroccan dress.
This evening, traditional live music and dance introduce a Moroccan feast, followed by the intriguing tales of a storyteller.

After breakfast, we leave Marrakesh to travel through the stunning Atlas Mountains and the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. You will cross Ouarzazate, once a busy trading center for camel caravans from sub-Saharan Africa on their way to Marrakesh and Fes. You then visit the village of Télouet and explore its kasbah.
Continue to visit one of the highlights of the south, the marvelous Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, with its earliest building dating back to the 11th century. You then arrive in Skoura and check into your hotel. The day consists of about five hours of driving, stops included.

Trek into the Valley of Roses and wander among the corn stalks and pomegranate trees of a nearby palm grove, or drive to the hilltop vestiges of a 12th-century Berber village for a traditional tea ceremony at dusk.

After, you will continue through the mountains and arrive at your hotel for check-in. Today’s drive is about six hours, including the stops in Ouarzazate.

Upon arrival, you start your adventure with a visit to the Hassan II Mosque, dramatically located at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. This astounding edifice is larger than Saint Peter’s in Rome and was built by the late King Hassan II at the end of his 40-year reign. Following that, you will stroll the Mohammed V Square and the Habouss quarter, where you will discover a modern version of the Medina.

This morning, you depart for El Jadida, a former Portuguese colony with several interesting buildings from the colonial era. Explore former churches and synagogues that sit close to mosques. Continue to the UNESCO-listed Fortress of Mazagan, one of the country’s most well-preserved coastal buildings. Here, you will discover the cistern and the Church of the Assumption, built in the Manueline style of late Gothic architecture. After lunch, you return to Casablanca.
