A Message from Founder & CEO
Mary Jean Tully Regarding COVID-19

Wow. Nobody saw that coming. The global coronavirus outbreak has changed how we live, how we work, how we socialize and – of course – how we travel. These past months have shaken most of us to the core, turning our world upside down.

 

I have been in the travel industry for over 30 years, and never in my entire career have I experienced anything like the disruption caused by the COVID-19 outbreak.

 

From Day 1, our priority at Tully was looking after our clients, keeping them safe and doing our best to alleviate their worries. Our staff worked around the clock to ensure everything would be okay for our clients, and I simply cannot praise them enough.

 

I also need to acknowledge our wonderful suppliers – from major hoteliers and cruise lines to small ground operators – who stood behind us and gave us the support we needed to support you. This is the strength of years of loyalty and the value of close, trusted relationships.

 

But above all else, I must give thanks to you, our loyal clients. In a time of great stress and upheaval you have trusted us to make things right. You have been wonderful, patient, and I hope we lived up to your expectations. At Tully, our goal has always been to create extraordinary moments. We never anticipated it would take on such a different meaning.

 

To those who had to cancel their bookings, we understand. To those who were able to hold on and change trip dates, we offer our utmost gratitude. The faith you put in us made us proud.

 

And if you were ever in doubt, I hope we proved the value of travel advisors. We are here to be your advocate in uncertain times. To navigate red tape and restrictions for you. To assist you no matter where you are in the world. To bring calm amid the chaos.

 

In light of everything that has happened, it is clear we will never experience the world the same way again. Many of us took our right to travel as a given; now we know we must never take it for granted. And while travel is often a luxury, this global crisis has also shown us how vital the tourism industry is for millions of lives across every continent. The money we spend supports countless individuals and families – and they need us to start exploring again. I personally cannot wait to return to my beloved Africa so that I can support the communities that I have grown to love deeply. (And, yes, I’m excited to see the elephants again too.)

 

So when we are ready and able to travel again, let us dream big but also think of how we can make a difference with our plans, even in the simplest ways.

 

Of course, no matter where you choose to go, and what you choose to do,
we will be there for you.

 

Travel will unite us. ’Twas ever thus.
