Cruise Line: Norwegian Cruise Line
Ship: Norwegian Epic
Cabin Category: Haven Suites
I sailed on Norwegian Cruise Lines with my husband, my brother and 3 nephew ages, 8, 10 and 13 years old. We were on the “Epic” cruise ship and sailed in the Haven Suites. We shared a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite over the Christmas Holidays. I was completely reluctant at first to be on a ship with 4000 passengers and over 1500 children, but I decided to hold my breath and remember that I was doing this for my nephews. The types of ships that I personally love would be boring for the younger kids. This trip was for them, but I wanted to take everything into consideration.
Much to my amazement, it far exceeded any of my expectations! The entertainment was like nothing I had ever seen, and the restaurants included everything from Italian, Sushi, Steakhouses, Chinese, a British Pub, and Teppanyaki just to name a few. It was amazing and such a great experience to expose the kids too. Mind you, there were plenty of places for chicken tenders and macaroni and cheese too!!
The Haven Suites feature your own private Concierge and Butler who are fantastic and make the entire experience perfect in every way. The Haven area has its own pool, hot tubs, two private sun decks with amazing double size wicker beds with amazing cushions, a separate dining room, fitness facilities, and bar which is more like a Private Club. There is no racing in the morning to save deck chairs, everything is smooth.
Prime seats are saved for you for all of the shows and restaurants, and the Concierge brings you down and secures everything for you and your family. Most importantly, the children’s program was flawless! Based on every age, the activities that were offered were fabulous. In fact, we were begging the kids to spend time with us! I am now a complete fan of “the Haven Suites”.
I would highly recommend “the Haven Suites” on either the Epic or the Breakaway, to any of our upscale clients who would like to take their children/grandchildren on board a ship without relinquishing any of the creature comforts which they are used to. The memories will be everlasting.
