Enchantment best describes the feeling that’s washing over experienced seafarers since news of a new ship came to light. We are, of course, speaking of Allura – the eighth vessel from Oceania Cruises.
Oceania’s second Allura Class ship is a sister of the Vista, which debuted in May 2023. The Allura recently celebrated a landmark moment with a float-out ceremony at the Fincantieri shipyard in Sestri Ponente, Italy, bordering the famed seaport of Genoa. The ship will now spend its days in interior-design origination, a genesis that will be on full view when the ship debuts in 2025.
Standing apart from the crowd
One of the first questions that comes to mind is: What will set Allura apart from the rest of the Oceania fleet? The answer here lies in an innovative mix of refined design, elevated service, new culinary offerings and even more elegant surroundings.
For one, the 1,200 guests are served by 800 crew members. That’s two crew members for every three guests, a ratio that elevates meticulous attentiveness to new degrees. You get a very welcome home-away-from-home, too: The opulent, all-veranda accommodations are the most spacious standard staterooms at sea, starting at an astounding 291 square feet. Expect sumptuous textures, elegant woods and soothing patterns, supported by lavish bathrooms with large vanities and oversized rainforest showers.
Scaling up culinary excellence
An astonishing 50% of the crew members on the Allura are dedicated to culinary experiences – one chef for every 10 guests, yet another ratio to be reckoned with. Five specialty dining rooms include the line’s newest signature restaurants, each at no extra cost. Ember serves satisfying American classics, right down to the key lime cheesecake, and the menu at Aquamar Kitchen features wellness-inspired dishes that make healthy eating at sea a new standard.
The Allura will also feature an onboard crêperie, serving freshly made-to-order crêpes and waffles, along with decadent ice cream sundaes in the afternoon.
At the expansive hands-on Culinary Center and accompanying Chef’s Studio, guests of the Allura will be privy to the most indulgent of epicurean secrets, shared by talented instructors.
Indulging in onboard enrichment
When you are not totally immersed in the destination via the hundreds of shore excursions and tours Oceania has custom-curated, you can enjoy a number of scintillating moments on board. Although she is new, the Allura will keep you plenty entertained.
Following the culinary merit, the beverage side of an Allura cruise knocks it out of the park. Wine-tastings plus exclusive Sommelier’s Choice and Cellar Master’s Classic Wine Pairing Luncheons expand both the palate and the mind. Your new knowledge of wine goes hand in hand with that of spirits, thanks to fun and informative mixology classes.
Art classes at Oceania’s much-loved Artist Loft are a study in visual artistry, a soothing way to appease your creative side just a bit. And for those just looking for a quiet corner to sink into, the Allura also features a luxurious library, replete with floor-to-ceiling glass walls, oversized chairs and plush furnishings – all just steps away from LYNC Digital Center, the ship’s digital and social hub.
But where are you headed?
Naturally, Oceania is the consummate professional when it comes to illuminating itineraries to some of the world’s most fascinating ports.
After officially entering service in Trieste, Italy, in July 2025, the Allura will sail to Greece before heading to spots in the Eastern Mediterranean. After that, she makes her way to a series of immersive voyages in Canada and the New England states before spending the winter in the Caribbean, homeporting in Miami.
