In the heart of Montreal, Four Seasons recently opened their newest property, and our Bespoke Travel team went to witness all that this hotel has to offer.
The Four Seasons Montreal is the vibrant new centerpiece of the city’s Golden Square Mile. The hotel has 169 guest rooms, 19 suites, and 18 Four Seasons Private Residences. Montreal’s Four Seasons is a place where sensuality meets intelligent design and where guests can go on a journey of discovery through enchantment and inspiring social connections.
Who Should Go?
Montreal has a very welcoming energy. The location of the Four Seasons is perfect for a luxury traveler as it offers the best of everything, from high-end stores and restaurants to the unique local hotspots. It gives you an authentic experience of the heart and soul of the city.
The Four Seasons Montreal is a perfect mix from older couples to young people. The property is ideal for couples, solo travelers, it felt more trendy than family orientated. The Marcus restaurant, in the hotel, has a very young and vibrant vibe. It has a beating pulse typical of the Montreal high-end social scene.
How Would You Describe the Location?
The location is excellent for people who would like to visit the Notre Dame Cathedral, walk through the shopping district, and also visit some of the famous night clubs in the area. There is an experience for everyone, particularly young professionals or couples. The hotel is right around the corner from the Ritz, between Sherbrooke and St. Catherine. It is handy for McGill, Mount Royal, and shopping.
We recommend the Four Seasons for anyone looking to have the feel of the urban side of Montreal. This hotel is for people looking to get a sense of the local social scene as well as experience all the great local eateries. Not to mention having that sense of pure luxury throughout their entire stay.
Describe The vibe of the Hotel?
The Four Seasons Montreal has more of a trendy vibe. The ample dining space opens out over the east side of the city with beautiful views. At night, the music is loud, and it draws locals in to eat and enjoy. The bar area becomes more of a small club vibe, and the dining room is less suited to families and better for couples, solo travelers, or groups.
The most memorable element of the hotel was its distinct scent. Every time you step foot into the hotel, your nostrils were by the powerfully sweet aroma. The smell was memorable, so each time you returned, it made you feel like you were “home” again.
The hotel is new, the rooms are a little more colorful than regular Four Seasons rooms, with hints of pink, and darker woods. It works. The pool area is gorgeous and brings about a sense of calm. It has ample quiet beds in which to unwind.
The Spa offers a relaxation room, which truly was so beautiful and tranquil. We took a tour of the Spa it was one of my favorite highlights of the hotel. It was so peaceful, and you feel a sense of calmness right when you walk in.
What Are Your Top Tips?
Make sure you spend at least two to three nights there, there is so much to see and do, and the hotel is stunning. We would recommend staying at the hotel before or after a cruise if you can. It is probably the most beautiful hotel in Montreal, and the staff was very attentive.
Make use of your hotel concierge; they were able to get us a dinner reservation for five, which we were unable to get by calling the restaurant directly. It was such a nice touch.
On our second day, we took a food tour, where we learned about the history of Montreal, and how this influenced its culinary culture. We visited great restaurants such as ‘Marche de La Villette’ where you get to taste genuinely unique and delicious parts of the Montreal Quebecois culinary culture. We recommend the food tour, and you can book through the hotel.
Overall, we would highly recommend the Four Seasons Montreal as the property is brand new, stunning, well located, and I had a wonderful time. Anyone can visit Montreal as there’s so much to do for all ages and traveler types. I’d recommend spending more time at the Old Port! Montreal is just a short flight away from Toronto and is perfect for a weekend trip if you don’t have too much time to spend exploring.
