I Do's in Africa
There’s a reason destination weddings have grown in popularity; there’s no better way to combine the happiest day of your life and your honeymoon in one extraordinary experience. Surrounded by incomparable beauty where wild animals roam free, tying the knot at a private lodge in Africa is as unique as it gets. From the beaches and Winelands of Cape Town to the treetops in Kenya, to the open plains of the Serengeti, you’ll celebrate your love in the most idyllic fashion under beautiful African skies. Picture a champagne breakfast shared with elephants; a sunset cruise past hippos; a romantic reception beneath Acacia trees. Memorable weddings are about the little details, and that’s where our passion and knowledge of Africa comes in. For a truly unique celebration, a safari wedding is unrivalled.
Eating Just Got Better
Culinary travel isn’t new, but the opportunities for foodies to learn to prepare traditional dishes on holiday have become even more delicious! Imagine cooking with volcanic heat in the Azores, making fresh pasta in Tuscany, “catch and cook” seafood in Punta Mita, pastries in Paris, Thai curry in Phuket, or roasted lamb in Morocco. The possibilities are as endless as a chef’s imagination.
Canfar's Bloor Street Entertains
Mary Jean Tully was honored to once again sit on the committee of, and contribute to CANFAR’s Bloor Street Entertains for the third year, where she donated a once-in-a-lifetime journey aboard Crystal Ocean Cruises. CANFAR aims to end the HIV epidemic, and hosts Canada’s largest fundraising gala in support of Canadian HIV and AIDS research. Tully Luxury Travel is proud to continue to support this unforgettable and inspiring evening at the Four Seasons Toronto, with fellow philanthropists, luxury retailers, and Toronto’s best chefs.
Expedition Ships Embrace Sustainability
In recent years, the desire of travelers to explore stunning and remote destinations by boat has skyrocketed. With this marked enthusiasm, we are happy to report several cruise lines are meeting the demand with advanced technology to ensure their impact on these precious environments is minimal. Aurora Expeditions’ Greg Mortimer, for example, launched in October bound for Antarctica, and is the first cruise ship to use the patented X-Bow, which gives off 80% fewer emissions and employs virtual anchoring to avoid disrupting the ocean floor. Beginning in 2020, National Geographic’s Endurance sailing to Northeast Greenland, Jan Mayen Island, and the Northwest Passage boasts significant fuel and water efficiency, while Hurtigruten’s Roald Amundsen’s hybrid engine has reduced CO2 emissions by 20% in regions such as Antarctica and South America.
